These messages appear in the status bar at the bottom of the SonoAnalyzer application window. They are divided into three colour-coded sections:
Informational messages (normal operation):
Loading...
May be seen briefly during startup, this indicates that the program and its libraries are loading into memory.
Setting up model geometry...
May be seen briefly during startup and after changing model type, this indicates that the program is busy preparing the new model.
Ready
Loading is complete, program is ready to analyse your design.
Downloading updates...
Seen when you select one of the "Update ..." options from the File menu, or shortly after startup (when the program runs these updates automatically) this indicates that the program is downloading new updates, if available, from the server.
Download complete - no updates.
On completion of the above, if your system is already up to date.
Download complete - updates have been added.
On completion of the above, if updates were applied to your system.
Checked input values - ok
May be seen briefly after changing model type, this indicates that the new model is installed and the input values are in range.
Click to recalculate ->
Seen after a change to any dimension (when auto-recalculate is off), this is a reminder that the model has changed and you will need to click the Recalculate button in order to analyse it.
Recalculating...
Seen while an analysis is in progress (either after clicking the Recalculate button, or on changing any dimension with auto-recalculate on). This message may also include some further information, as follows:
Recalculating... queued
The analysis request has been sent to the remote server and is waiting in a queue.
Recalculating... running
The analysis is running on the remote server.
Recalculating... complete
The analysis has been completed on the remote server, and is being downloaded. This should be replaced quickly by the Ready prompt.
Please wait for analysis setup...
(SonoAnalyzer Pro only) May be shown briefly during model setup.
Warning messages (correctable and / or less serious problems)
Requested download failed - check internet connection?
The check for updates you requested (or it may have been triggered automatically shortly after program startup) failed because SonoAnalyzer is unable to connect to the internet. Please check your network and internet connection. If your computer is working normally (eg. you can complete a search on Google) then this message may also indicate that the server is down. In this event please wait a few minutes and try again. This is listed as a warning rather than an error because these updates are not critical, but note that without a working internet connection you will also be unable to run any of the online analyses.
One or more inputs is out of allowed range
Each model has its own limits on the range of dimensions covered. In some cases these limits are linked, eg. the inside diameter of a cylinder may not be larger than its outside diameter. Material properties are also subject to realistic limitations. In all cases if the dimensions / material properties you specify fall outside of the model's limits you will see this warning message, and recalculation will be inhibited. Normally reverting the last change you made will make this warning disappear. If the sonotrode you want to analyse is, by its nature, outside the limits of the model you're trying to use then, obviously, the model is unsuitable for your needs. Please see the models information page for more information and how to request new models.
Frequency not achievable within allowed input range
Related to the above, if the analysis has a tuning option, like length tuning on the Stepped Sonotrode model, then you may find that the frequency you enter could only be achieved by going outside the limits on the tuning dimension (in this case, length). The difference here is that the achievable frequency range is not known in advance, so this problem will only become apparent after you run the analysis. Again, if changing the frequency is impossible then you may need to request a new model. Most models are designed to work around the common 20kHz frequency but any other value could also be used for new models.
Pro server not available - check setup
(SonoAnalyzer Pro only) The specified analysis server is not available, or the connection to it failed. Please check the settings for FEA servers. SonoAnalyzer Pro depends on a working connection to an analysis server for both analysis and new geometry creation - neither wil be possible until this is resolved.
No components defined
(SonoAnalyzer Pro only) In a multiple-component analysis this warning will be shown when no components have yet been defined - click on the tab marked "+" to add the first component.
Error messages (more serious problems that will prevent normal operation)
The program, or one of its libraries, has failed to load.
If seen on startup this message may indicate a currupted download or some incompatibility between your version of Java and the program / libraries. If you see this, please open a support ticket for help.
Authentication failed - You may need to reactivate your license
This error should appear only after you move the SonoAnalyzer program to new hardware. If you see it, click on "Reactivate license" in the Help menu and follow the instructions. After activating your license on the new machine, it will no longer work on the old one. Each license is valid for only one machine.
Not enough credits to perform analysis
The online analyses require a positive balance of analysis credit points. This message indicates that your balance is below the required number, perhaps because your subscription has expired or you have run too many analyses in recent days. Your current balance should be shown as "Credit available" in the left-hand panel of the program (Analysis tab) and extra credit points can be purchased from this website. If you think your credit balance may be incorrect, first try "Update credit available" from the File menu to fetch the latest balance from the server, then, if necessary, open a support ticket so we can help you.
Failed to connect to server - check internet connection?
You have selected an online analysis but it cannot be completed because SonoAnalyzer is unable to connect to the internet. Please check your network and internet connection. If your computer is working normally (eg. you can complete a search on Google) then this message may also indicate that the server is down. In this event please wait a few minutes and try again.
Proxy server error - check authentication settings
The program was unable to connect via the specified proxy server. Please check authentication details.
Timeout waiting for analysis results
Possibly related to the above or caused by a slow internet connection, this error indicates that the program did establish a connection to the server but the time limit to fetch results expired before the analysis could be completed. If you see this, please try the analysis again, or wait a few minutes and then try again. If you're using a slow internet connection (eg. dialup) please consider finding something faster. If you're unable to solve the problem in this way please open a support ticket.
Failed to analyse the data provided
A more generic version of the errors above, this may also be related to your internet connection or to some external problem on the remote server. If you see this please open a support ticket so we can sort it out.
Postprocessor failed to start - check setup
(SonoAnalyzer Pro only) On completing an analysis SonoAnalyzer will attempt to start the postprocessor application on the analysis server and connect to it. This error is shown if that process fails. Analysis results may be available within SonoAnalyzer itself but the more detailed examination of vibration modes in the postprocessor will not be.
Pro geometry failed
(SonoAnalyzer Pro only) In the #3 / #4 SonoAnalyzer Pro models, complex geometries are created from the finite-element mesh. However, some geometries are more complex than others! If the finite-element model fails to mesh the geometry specified, this error will be shown and a new dialog window will open asking the user to share the problematic model. If the user agrees, their model will be sent automatically to the SonoAnalyzer team and used to improve future versions.
Model error xx (where xx represents two digits)
This indicates a serious problem with the model or database. If you see this, please open a support ticket including the 2-digit error number and explaining exactly what you were trying to do.
System error xx (where xx represents two digits)
This indicates a serious problem with the application. For OE models the issue will most likely be at the online server end, and we will probably be aware of it already. On Pro models we rely on users to report these errors. Either way, please open a support ticket including the 2-digit error number and full details of what you were trying to do.
