SonoAnalyzer OE and Demo - version 1.3.0 released
PowerUltrasonics is pleased to announce the release of SonoAnalyzer OE version 1.3.0 (codename "Leonhard") also available as a 30-day, limited use demo.
Changes from the previous release (1.2.0) include:
New models: New user-defined cylindrical sonotrode using the same profile-generator as the recently-release rectangular block sonotrode, this offers the curved geometry using lines and blend radii over 12 sections of specified length and diameter. A series of other, simpler shapes are also provided, based on this model, for convenience: A new stepped sonotrode, more flexible than previous models in that the input and output lengths are controlled independently and the blend radius is user-defined. A similar conical sonotrode has a conical section in the middle instead of a step. Finally, for now, an exponential sonotrode model demonstrates the efficiency of this profile for high-gain horns.
Enhancement: The program now supports a local cache for model data, results and images. So the first time you perform a complex analysis it might take a minute or two to complete but if you ever return to the same geometry and materials, the original results will appear almost instantly, loaded from your local hard drive. This also applies to downloaded images (animations and stress / displacement plots) and makes the process of switching between models much faster. Finally, results for the standard default models (before any dimensions are changed) have been included with the distribution in order to pre-populate the cache, so the standard model results will appear instantly without clicking the "Recalculate" button.
Enhancement: The program now records the user's design dimensions individually for each analysis model. So while designing, say, a stepped sonotrode you can switch to a conical sonotrode for comparison and then return to the stepped model, finding it exactly as you left it.
Enhancement: In previous versions, changing a dimension while an analysis was in progress would abort the analysis. This is essential because otherwise the result might be displayed together with non-corresponding dimensions. However, some users were inadvertently stopping analyses in progress, perhaps not realizing that anything was happening. So in this version form elements are disabled (greyed out) during an analysis run, and cannot be changed. If a mistake is made and the user really wants to abort the analysis, this can still be done by clicking the Clear button ("C"), which is highlighted with an orange colour while analyses are in progress.
Information for current SonoAnalyzer OE users:
Your updated file download is shown under Files in "My account". The filename is "SonoAnalyzerOE-setup.exe". Please log into your account to download the new file. Uninstalling the previous version is recommended before installing this one. Your saved settings, including the license key, should not be affected by the removal / installation.
Information for current SonoAnalyzer Demo users:
The file download is the same as for the purchased SonoAnalyzer OE and can be downloaded and installed in the same way. Access is still restricted by the demo license. Previous demo users whose license has expired but who wish to try the new version, please email or open a support ticket to request an extension.
Information for current SonoAnalyzer RC users:
The release-candidate version SonoAnalyzer RC is no longer available, having been replaced by OE, but early-adopters who purchased it can continue to use it until the licence expiry on September 1, 2013 and thereafter purchase extensions or upgrades at the discounted prices fixed at the time of purchase.
The license key shown under Product Keys in "My account" will still show "SonoAnalyzer RC" but all RC licenses are now exactly equivalent to OE licenses. The file download shown under Files in "My account" will still show "SonoAnalyzerRC-setup.exe" but the download link will now provide the SonoAnalyzer OE setup file as above.
