SonoAnalyzer Pro beta - version 1.4.5 released

Announcing the release of SonoAnalyzer Pro beta version 1.4.5. This is a 60-day trial version available free of charge to all clients who have purchased SonoAnalyzer OE (annual or one-month license).

This includes one significant development compared to version 1.4.4: a change in the method of scaling the CalculiX finite element results file to significantly speed up the process, particularly on low-bandwidth connections. With the new version it becomes practical to run Pro models on a remote server anywhere in the world using a standard ADSL connection (or better).

On this and the two previous versions SonoAnalyzer Pro has included a default connection to a shared server in Europe, enabling testers to discover some of its capabilities without the need to install the finite element analysis software locally. However in previous versions the process used to scale the large results file (download, scale, upload modified version) demanded a very fast internet connection to be completed in a reasonable time. In this new version the scaling is done on the remote server and only one download is required, making it suitable even for ADSL connections with relatively slow upload speeds.

Version 1.4.5 also provides support for the new OE models (user-defined hollow sonotrode and exponential hollow sonotrode). These models will not be adapted for Pro (working on local or remote FEA) - instead a more powerful, generic approach will be adopted allowing a profiled hole to be defined as an additional feature, in the same way that slots were introduced to the block sonotrodes. In the meantime Pro users can continue to use the new OE models (there is no need to switch between Pro and OE).

Version 1.4.5 was built on 28 March 2014 and will expire 27 May 2014.

Thanks for participating in the free SonoAnalyzer Pro beta trial. The latest version is now available for download through your user account at SonoAnalyzer.com. Version 1.4.3 of SonoAnalyzer Pro beta will expire on 6 April and version 1.4.4 on 12 April. After that time, all users must either upgrade or revert to SonoAnalyzer OE (version 1.4.2 or higher, 1.4.5 recommended). As usual, uninstalling the previous version of SonoAnalyzer / SonoAnalyzer Pro is recommended before installing a new one. Your saved settings should not be affected by this, provided that you install a compatible version number as shown above.

Information for current SonoAnalyzer OE users:

SonoAnalyzer Pro beta is available, free of charge and without obligation, to clients who have already purchased SonoAnalyzer OE (annual or one-month license).The latest version is now available for download through your user account at SonoAnalyzer.com, alongside SonoAnalyzer OE, and during the trial period you can switch between them at will using your existing license. As usual, uninstalling the previous version of SonoAnalyzer / SonoAnalyzer Pro is recommended before installing a new one. Your saved settings should not be affected by this, provided that you install a compatible version number as shown above.

Information for current SonoAnalyzer Demo users:

SonoAnalyzer Pro is not currently available to free demo users. A limited "demo" mode option is under consideration for the future.

Information for current SonoAnalyzer RC users:

The release-candidate version SonoAnalyzer RC is no longer available, but early-adopters who purchased it receive all the benefits of OE as above.
