Online analysis by database-lookup

The Gateway server forwards the query to the database server, as requested by the client, and returns the answer.

The Gateway routes the query to either a database server or a Finite-Element server, according to the user's selection.

The database server returns answers quickly - typically in just a few seconds - but there are some limitations:

  • Predicted frequencies are slightly less accurate than for the full FEA results (typically you may see a difference in the predicted resonant frequencies of the order 0.5%)
  • Some "exotic" modes may not be included.
  • The range of dimensions and material properties covered is smaller.

This method is recommended for a quick, preliminary analysis, provided your sonotrode fits within the allowed dimensional range. The more versatile, thorough and accurate method, FEA-on-demand, is discussed on the next page.
